Installation Guide — MotoNyx Universal Indicator Adaptor

Follow these 7 simple steps to install your MotoNyx adaptor in under 10 minutes.

Fits Triumph Speed 400, Speed T4, Scrambler 400 X / XC, Thruxton 400 and Tracker 400.

Rear no-cut option available

Add our rear plug-and-play wiring harness.

Keep the original wiring loom intact. The waterproof AWG22 harness connects an aftermarket indicator cleanly at the rear of the Triumph 400 series. The supplied harness connector fits the rear indicators only. The front connector is different: reuse the connector from your old front indicator for front installation. The supplied wire length is sufficient.

Before fitting your indicator

Indicator Fitment & Angle Guidance

Check the threaded shank

The indicator's threaded shank must be less than 1.6 cm long. KTM indicator shanks may need to be shortened carefully to fit the adaptor.

Check the nut

A flange nut must be less than 1.8 cm in diameter. If the flange is larger, use a suitable hex nut instead.

Adjusting the Indicator Angle

The indicator is mounted on a threaded shank with a nut. Tighten the nut and check the indicator angle. If the angle is not correct, loosen and reposition the nut slightly, then tighten again. Repeat this trial-and-error process until the indicator face points in the desired direction.

Step 1: Remove Stock Indicator

Unscrew and remove the stock (factory) indicator from your bike.

Keep the OEM nut and washer safely — the swap is fully reversible.

Step 2: Cut the Stock Wire

Rear only: skip with wiring harness

Cut the wire of the stock indicator connector as shown.

Skip this step for rear installation with the MotoNyx plug-and-play wiring harness. The supplied connector fits the rear only. For the front, reuse the connector from your old front indicator — the supplied wire length is sufficient.

Step 3: Remove Stock Connector

Rear only: skip with wiring harness

Pull out the stock connector. Note the rubber seal on it — remove it carefully.

Our Indicator Wiring Harness plugs directly into the rear connector only, so this step can be skipped at the rear. The front connector is different: retain and reuse the connector from your old front indicator. The supplied wire length is sufficient for front installation.

Step 4: Mark the Terminals

Identify and mark the positive (+) and negative (−) wires before connecting. Positive (+): Gray wire · Negative (−): Yellow/Black stripe wire.

The wiring is reversed with the harness: connect red to black and black to red. On some models, if that doesn't work, try red to red and black to black.

Step 5: Mount Indicator on Adaptor

Take any aftermarket indicator, loosen the M10 nut, and fix it into the adaptor as shown.

Step 6: Connect the Wires

Connect the connectors as shown. Two connection types are possible — use whichever is easier for you.

Step 7: Fix Adaptor to Indicator Slot

Fix the indicator + adaptor assembly into the bike's indicator slot. Done!
